This is regarding my husband's trips away with a couple of friends.(some are day trips and some are overnight/two days away in another country) It is something my husband has said, but not to me. It means that whatever happens when he is away stays away. It may be a secret of his, or a secret of a friend, it may be as suggested just boy talk, or something like BadVoice noted. I recently went on a girl’s weekend away and we said this before we went, we said it as a joke and I can assure you none of us did anything we wouldn't want anyone else to know about.

It means just that! Just like if you and a female go into the bathroom to gether for a personal matter(like she may not know how to properly insert a tampon/snaitary napkin and you are instructing her on how to do it properly), that is not something for everyone to know...just you two.
Well the same premise goes for 'female retreats/men retreats'....what happens while we're together stays with us only! It does not mean your husband is hiding something secretive from you....it could mean that he is holding.."in trust" the secrets of others, one of his friends.

It's a paraphrase of the term "What goes on in Vegas, stays in Vegas." In other words, what he does on his business trips is his business and his alone.
Sounds kind of secretive doesn't it?
