I had quite heavy acne when I was a teenager, it was really affecting my life but within a few months of taking the drug it vanished completely. There are some side effects e.g. I had to have regular blood tests to ensure my kidneys were still working properly! Worth it though!
I advice you go to a different doctor and make it very clear that you've tried everything on the market (I had - in fact I found all those products made things worse) and explain how it is ruining your life. Sometimes you have to be the one to "insist" on seeing a dermatologist as GP's will always fob you off as much as possible. Good luck :)

I think willywombat has great advice, I myself took a trip to my GP as a teenager and was also prescribed Tetracyline it was so simple to use, I have never looked back.
Get an appointment as soon as you can.
Good Luck

Hey x
I recommend the tea-tree range found in body shop, but as you said the oil isn't helping very well.
Go to your local chemist and ask for: Quinoderm. If your skin is just average acne, ask for Quinoderm 5, if it's heavy acne, ask for Quinoderm 10.
There are also complexion tablets you could try.
If it doesn't get better, see a dermatologist. They will help you really well, they work wonders and know much more than your GP would.
Good luck!

I reccomend a trip to the GP then a referral to a dermatologist.
I used Lymecyline (a Tetracyline antibiotic) and it worked wonders.

When I am a bit backed up I DO break out!
Try also 1/2 a zinc vitamin once a day. Make sure you eat with them and lay down or they can be hard on your stomach and my cause nausia.

I for one had TERRIBLE acne. Painful...Oh my gosh. And my skin was SO blotchy and uneven, and I was covered in blackheads...I went to my doctor for some help, and he put me on Retin A, which took away all the redness and blotchiness in the first two uses (one use before bed and one in the morning. Gone by noon). The other one he put me on is kept in the fridge, and I forget its name, but it's got a hefty ammount of Benzoyl in it. It's really drying, so I only use it during the week (when I know I won't be seeing much of my boyfriend or anyone else) due to the flaky skin I get. It's all worth it since my acne is like, almost gone. I get little zitty things around my eyebrows, but that's about it. I also don't use that fridgerated cream more than once a week because my skin is so sensitive. Anyway, ask your doctor about Retin A, because it really works wonders, and it's not drying at all! Hope this helps!
