He is much less experienced in bed than I am and he gets quite nervous about the subject being brought up and I don't know what I could possibly do to make him more comfortable. Why don't you reach for the condom for him? This happens to lots of guys... the condom process is kind of awkward and it just kills the mood. What I find is best is YOU putting on the condom for him. Give him some manual/oral (if you're into that) stimulation and just slip on the condom for him... he'll probably hardly notice.
Also, even though you can't be on the pill - there are TONS of options for you. The Nuva Ring is really getting popular among all my buddies here... the shot, the implant, the patch, the female condom... there's so many options for you. Perhaps go to a doctor or Planned Parenthood and talk about some possibilities?
