I would talk to him about your feelings. If he doesn't feel the same, then quit cold turkey. but if he does, figure out a balance that works for both of you. It started out being unhealthy so it's hard to make it healthy. It is possible if you want more than FWB with him.

You are fooling yourself.
You DO have expectations. You expect it may last, you expect there is a next time, and if you are anxious about the when, and always afraid there may NOT be a next time, then no, you are not happy with FWB. He may be, but you definitely are not.
FWBs are for a minority of free-spirited, thick-skinned women. All the others get hurt.
