So i was thinking about eating 600 calories a day for 5 days in the week, 3000 calories for one day of the week (binge day) and zero calories for the day after the binge day. I will therefore be consuming 6000 calories a week. I also will be doing 1 hour of exersize a day (walking on the treadmill). i was wondering, will this lose me weight and how much weight would it lose me? thankyouxx

Hi
Sorry to say this but that sort of plan has disaster written all over it.
I think you need to look into why you binge eat in the first place.
I can honestly say that my eating habits are far from good and my worst time is in the evening when I want to snack on things as my daughter is in bed and I find it hard to resist food at that time.
Sometimes in the day I can skip meals, especially lunchtime and I have been to countless people to discuss my weight problems but it comes down to why we do what we do in the first place.
The body really does need a certain level of calories per day and we definitely need more if we are going to exercise, the key though is to have the right sort of calories and not the number of calories and then one day binge on over 3000, that can on a long term basis cause all sorts of problems for your body.
Why do you binge? That is the big question in all of this.
I think there is a standard amount of calories the body needs each day to maintain a healthy balance, I personally have problems with my back and these have been ongoing for the last 14 - 15 years, I have been weighting to get into a pain clinic since the end of September last year. I also have IBS so following diets is not always a great option for me as I can't eat the fruit and fibre but I am working with a dietician through my doctors who is trying to see a patter n on my IBS to then focus on the weight and the foods I can and can't eat.
You need to get some nutritional advice in my personal opinion and you can get access to that through your own GP.
I have tried hypnosis to get into why we perform certain behaviours but couldn't afford the sessions so quit that.
Eating the right foods, balanced with the right level of exercise, i.e. not just one form of exercise. So for instance maybe treadmill one day, swimming on another, cycling on another. Varying the activities and the foods that will give our body energy and lower in fat content.
Taking in 3000 calories in one day, I can only imagine will involve all the naughty things that are high in saturated fats etc. Having a healthy diet doesn't always mean we can't have SOME of the things we like but it is like everything in life, everything in moderation and finding a happy medium.
Find out why you feel the need to binge and then go through the right processes of getting assistance from your doctor and following a change into a healthy living option rather than a fad diet or restricting your calorie intake as the body generally thinks oh god, I am starving today and then stores up the fat and you find you won't lose weight but instead you will feel extremely ill. Take it from someone who has been there eh!
Keep us posted OK.

If you seriously want to loose weight pick a lifestyle of smart eating, and trust me your love for binging will go away.
You probably heard it many times, but i'll say it again for you. Exclude anything white from your meals. White means highly processed and bleached. Rice, sugar, spagetti, bread, that has white color is bad news.
Look for signs of sugar in every packaged food. Corn syrop is your first enemy.
It's everywhere:hotdogs, cookies, bread, crackers, soda, cakes ,etc...
Every meal should include raw veggie or fruit, preferably green. Try this for a week, and see what happens.
If you can make your own juice w/green and an apple, it would be a perfect breakfast for you, and will keep you energized and not hungry for 2=3 hours. Good luck

That is a terribly unhealthy plan, you will throw your metabolisim all out of whack. You seem to be focusing too much on calories and not and WHAT your eating. If you eat a balanced diet full of fruit and veggies and a healthy exercise routine (ie sports, walking, jogging, dancing)you will be able to maintain a healthy weight. If you need to pig out, have maybe one meal a week to be whatever you want. As a side note, if you have an obsession with food or you are feeling depressed or insecure I strongly encourage you to talk about it with someone you trust or if you feel you can't do that a counselor can give you somewhere to talk out your problems.
