Was thinking of taking them from the family garden, which i thought might be nice, but at the same time i don't want it to seem like i won't spend money etc etc.any thoughts?

It shows you really want to make an effort for her, especially if you get some nice ribbon or something to present them nicely. PErsonally, I'd prefer 'home-grown and hand-picked' ones rather than store bought ones myself.

No, it doesnt seem cheap at ALL! It seems sweet and romantic and absolutely lovely! Pick a beautiful bouquet and tie it with a pretty ribbon, wrap it in some nice tissue paper or put it in an inexpensive glass vase. If she cannot see the beauty of this heartfelt gesture you have more to worry about than seeming cheap.

Just make it a bunch of nice looking flowers. If she thinks it's cheap it's clear it's more important to her to have you pay for flowers then the actual blossoms.
But of course you can jazz them up with ribbon, pretty paper, cloth, small charms, cards... Anything festive you might have lying around.

Why not pick the flowers from the garden and buy her a card to go with them? And some ribbon to wrap round them? xxxxx
