writes: Quick Question for Valentines Day...I have been taking a poll on peoples opinion on valentines day and I'd really appreciate any answers I can get. Is Valentines day to you a holiday to be embraced and celebrated, or is it strictly representative of consumerism and has the opposite effect of causing stress on a relationship rather than bring it together? Simply is valentines day good or bad? Reply to this Question Share |

Commercial, common, not special. To be treated as any other day, unless perhaps there is some fun quirky kind of something going on in relation to this rather strange day! Who was St V anyway? Plus, i guess i'm just not the religious type!

After that went to get a slurpee at 711, drove around, sat at the park, talked and joked around. Afterwards he took me home and that was it. We just had fun without having to worry whether it was Valentines or not.

I think that Valentine's Day should be a day to celebrate friendships, not JUST romance.

It is supposed to be a day to show your respect, care, or love to that special someone. If there is no special "other" in your life at the time, show you care about someone else like your mom, sister, a teacher, etc. Any holiday about love is good.

Embraced and celebrated. It's personal choice to take part in consumerism.

I am currently single at the moment, but I like to pamper myself during this day and spend time with my friends. But if I was in a relationship I know I would go all out just to let my significant other know how much he means to me. Planning something for Valentines day is non stressful for me whether I am single or in a relationship. I enjoy it either way...
