A female United Kingdom, anonymous writes:

Hey, Im 24 years old and somethings worrying me about my period. I usually come on on the 15th of every month and very regular. 2 days ago tho, i noticed a brownish red discharge in my knickers when i went to the toilet, the type of discharge you get at the beginning and end of your period. I just thought I was about to come on and thought nothing of it, even tho it would of been a bit early. 2 days later tho and ive had no more blood or discharge or nothing. It was just that one time.

Im worried Ive got an infection or something. I did have unprotected sex a month ago but have had a period since. I am not on the contraceptive pill. Im worried because not only did it appear 1 week early (and its never happened before), it seemed to be just slight spotting and then nothing!!! wot shall i do?

MissKin agony auntMy best advice is to get tested for an infection. Get tested for pregnancy. Don't have unprotected sex. It could be anything, it could be nothing. Even if you dont have any other symptoms, you could have contracted a disease or infection but some can lay dormant or not have any symptoms but still be there. Get checked out by a GP.

birdynumnums agony auntHello,

It could just be a sign that you ovulated. A lot of women have a bit of spotting, usually brown, at the time of ovulation. If you don't have any other symptoms, that's probably it. You could take an over the counter test in now to check, it should be fairly accurate 5 days before your period. Hope this helped, best of luck.
