The other posts pose a very good possibility. It may not be inserted enough. Or, you might just have a sensitive area down there. I am on the pill and at certain times during my week off the pill, I get sensitive to tampons. My doctor says it may be caused by what is called vestibulitis. I am not saying that is what you have, but it might be possible. First, try inserting the tampon further. Hold the bottom of the outside applicator and put it in until your fingers rest against your outer lips. Then, push the inner applicator up and if it still bothers you, go see a gynecologist. Good luck!

I agree with the other posters - it is not inserted far enough inside you. I get the same thing happen to me and it really does hurt! Just make sure you really push it in as far as it will go.
One thing I will add - I dont really like the tampax pearl. I often find they do not sit right inside me. I prefer the original standard tampax. (Apologies for being graphic) the Pearl ones do not seem to expand in length, but only in width and I feel this makes them more inclined to get lodged in uncomfortable places. (never had this trouble with the original tampax!)
If fitted properly, you really shouldnt be able to feel a tampon at all. Its like they are not there!
Good luck! Just keep going and it will eventually fall into place :)

Hi there. One possibility is, that you have not inserted the tampon high enough.
The tampon needs to be inserted as far as it will go, which is right up to the cervix.
It can't go any further than that.
In fact, I'm quite sure that it's the only reason it could feel so uncomfortable.
It's nothing to do with the tampon itself, just the technique of inserting it.
If you look inside the box it comes in, there should probably be an information sheet with a diagram of how to insert the tampon properly for maximum comfort. It's really simple. From that point on, you really shouldn't have any more problems.
