Sexually active but definitely not pregnantIs this normal?Should i have my placebo pills when the spotting first starts to allowed my period?Do i need a stronger pill?or any other ideas as to how i can sort this out or find the answer?

Is it simply spotting a couple times or is there almost a light flow for a few days? Is it at all predictable? It took me over a year to find a birth control that did not make me have my period ever two weeks and for an extended period of time, so some women just react very differently to the estrogen in the pill. If you are ruining underwear left and right or experiencing annoying cramps, I'd look into changing it up or at least getting a pelvic exam.

Yep, I think spotting is normal on the pill.. But why ask me, I'm no doctor. I could be talking rubbish.Your in the UK, that means you have access to the NHS. The NHS has a online website, that gives you information about everything. You can even put in your problem, and they will send you an answer online. If you don't like the website, well they got a telephone service, open 24/7 365days of the year. There you can talk to a nurse, and if needed a doctor. They are the professionals, not us, ask them and you will get the proper and correct advice. Here are the detailshttp://www.nhs.ukhttp://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/NHS Direct Telephone Hotline - 0845 4647Also any problems you report, can easily be sent to your doctor for future reference and follow up.

You shouldn't start your placebo pills early as this may affect the protection your pill gives you.
I've had random spotting before my period is due before, but it is rare and doesn't happen every month.
I would consider asking your doctor if there is anything you can do to prevent this issue, or see if changing to another brand of pill helps or another type of contraceptive.

It is not a case that it is a stronger pill that you need. Spotting is normal when people are on the pill, it does different things to different woman. Have you had unprotected sex, maybe you should go and get checked out for STI's as well as this can cause spotting, if all comes back clear well then I guess you either can go back to your doctor to talk about it or else just try and put up with it.
