A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Hi everyone...

I am just looking for some advice with my current situation.

I recently started sleeping with my ex boyfriend who I still have strong feelings for and he is not in a place where he can he give me the commitment that i want... this is besides the point.. I am currently 11 days late on my period . My period comes every 28 days and this very out of ordinary for me. Have taken 4 home pregnancy tests by now (last one today) and all say negative. Its weird because i do feel tired and emotional last few days and i plan to go to the doctor this week for a blood test. Should i tell my ex what is going on right now, or not say anything because i don't know if i want him to worry for no reason. Should i just keep it to myself until i know for sure. I feel really emotional and want him to understand why but i am scared to bring it up because if everything turns out ok i don't want to worry him and make a big deal out of nothing--- Also is it possible I am still pregnant? I know this is relationship advice forum but any insight will be helpful. Im googling chances constantly but i just don't get why its so late and tests are saying negative?

Go to your doctor and get a blood test preg test. He/she will test for prego hormones in your blood, and yes keep it to your self cuz its stressful enough for you when you aren't sure, so why make it stressful for others? I say this having one child and plently of pregnancy scares in my lifetime lol. Good luck.

you could be pregnant, but it could be stress or nerves making you late. I really dont think you should tell him until you know for sure. No sense in upsetting him unless you are positive. Please be responsible and use protection. Mal

Laura1318 agony auntBy the second week ,you should know if you are pregnant or not. Going to the doctor for the pregnancy test will be more accurate.

I think you should keep it to yourself first until you are confirmed pregnant.

sweetspicy agony auntsounds like your period might be irragular this month and if not only time will tell. If you go and get a blood test/pee on a stick test to early it will say negative. I know it sucks waiting the two weeks out but it's alot better than spending a whole lot of money for nothing. Just try and relax for the next two weeks then if your still worried pick up another pee on a stick test.

If you know your body well enough to know when your getting your period, you will be able to tell if your body is pregnant by the changing in it. Some early detection signs are: cramping, shoulder pains, bigger apitite, stuffy nose, nose bleeds, stomach growls, gassy, extream tiredness, crying/emotional with out reason, headaches, and the most comon is cloudy pee.

hope this helps

Moo's Mum agony auntCould be late due to stress I guess but I would go to the doctor and have a test. Sometimes the home ones don't detect pregnancy in the early days. Personally I wouldn't tell him until you have a definitive answer. Is there a close friend you could confide in if you need to talk to someone face to face?
