writes:ok so i know this isnt a relationship question but i really need help. right now i am studying to get my BSW degree. but im conservative. i am constantly surrounded by liberals that attack me for my beliefs. all i want to do is get this degree and help child abuse victims. these children CANT help themselves and this is a path that i would find most rewarding. but being beat down every day for being conservative is really starting to get to me. should i stick with it or or just give up. even conservatives attack me when they find out my major...i have to explain it to them constantly. i just dont know what to do.  NEVER let anyone dictate your life.
If they don't like your chosen profession, just look at them and say "sorry you don't agree, but this is what I have chosen to do" and then walk away. You don't owe them any explanation.
If you quit these same people will say "oh she's a quiter" etc. you will never please them, so don't try.

Follow your dream. People always attack those who try to do something good with their lives. You're trying to good and that's all that counts. Who cares what anyone else believes? What you believe is all that counts, so yes keep going. Imagine if you don't and in ten years time you really regret it. Keep going and to hell with everyone else.
