reader, anonymous, writes (24 January 2008): It could have been her plan... Happened with my boyf and his ex! They got together in March 10 years ago found out she was pregnant 5 months later. She wasn't expecting him to stand by her tho, offer to marry her etc. They stayed together for 3 years before eventually having a pretty horrible breakup - luckily they hadn't got married. She told him that she only wanted a kid, that at 4 years older than him thought her time was running out! She didn't bank on him been there tho for the child You have a right as the child's father to see it and spend time with it - as long as she hasn't cheated on you and that it is yours!

 It oould be her plan. You didn't give enough information to really determine that. As far as the baby, call your local government, ask them if they participate or have a paternity registery. That's something that was started to prevent mallicious act, such as giving a baby up for adoption, or allowing another person adopt the child. You'd put your name on there and her name and any information you can provide. Then if she attempts to do something without notifying you, they will contact regarding those plans.
