Do you think it's a good idea to have sex for the first time while music's playing in the background or can that be a distraction from (or to) your partner? I'm thinking classical music, gentle stuff, but I don't know if it would add to or subtract from the whole experience. Thoughts would be very much appreciated x Reply to this Question Share |

I sometimes would put smooth jazz on the cable tv channel so that we had the glow of the tv and some music so the teens and dogs wouldn't hear us....

..Why, do you guys mean is it actually possible to have sex also without music? LOL
Go ahead, music is fine . I normally don't think of classical music as bedroom soundtrack ( except Ravel's "Bolero " maybe ) but that's personal choices, - play whatever makes you relaxed.

I think music is always nice, and helps block out the outside world. However, if you try to stage manage your first time together it may we disappoint. First times should be spontaneous and full of love, not organised like a visit to the dentist. The only advance planning is to leave condoms within reach, even start the tear to make it easier for fumbling fingers. Enjoy :)

I find it pointless, since you're not going to be paying attention to what's playing and it will fade in the background.
If you want to play some then go for it. Just don't play Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get it On", too cheesy.

I always have music cranked because I don't live alone. I usually just put on my favorite rock station on the radio, but sometimes I make playlists on my computer or iPod to suit the mood. Sometimes I put music on that makes me feel sexy and a little dirty. Other times, I put on softer stuff for a more romantic vibe. I usually only hear and notice the music during the initial bits of foreplay before I'm really turned on. During sex, it is usually just background noise because my brain is sufficiently occupied. I don't think it is a distraction at all. I quite enjoy it.
In regards to the classical music, I once had sex to a Mozart CD and it was some of the best sex I've ever had, haha! Go for it.

I usually play Rod Stewart's "Do you think I'm sexy" when I bed down one of my new girls.... Works great....

I love playing music while my husband and I are having sex. It's very relaxing.

If you want music on, go for it. The first time is usually pretty awkward and music can help with the awkward silences.

There was music on during my first time, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. I don't think I even really heard it, I was too wrapped up in the moment.
Probably doesn't matter whether you put anything on, or what it is.

Almost never have. It's never been an issue. You really are otherwise occupied...

You probably won't even notice it most of the time, unless you have it cranked up. Since it's to be used as background music, play it at a lower volume.

It will depend entirely on whether he enjoys classical music.
