A female United States, Gwyneth writes:

Love, arguably the most widely discussed and pondered subject in all the world, seems to be the greatest mystery to us as humans. Love makes us feel alive. It makes us feel whole inside. It gives us purpose. It fuels our hopes and dreams. It channels our desires.

I have loved so many people in my life, but for a long time I was always unfulfilled in my personal relationships. I thought it was because of bad luck, ill fate, or just wrong choices. Eventually, however, I came to see that the relationships always turned out the same. As a result, I began to wonder why.

I spent the past year of my life trying to answer this question. During this time, I realized that my relationships turned out this way because I did not love MYSELF. I now believe that it is impossible to truly love others if you do not even respect or care for yourself. Now, I spend a part of each day tending to my soul's desires. I have finally begun to fulfill my own needs. I have started to love who I am, flaws and all. Now that I do, I am in a deeply gratifying relationship for the first time in my life.

It's a little ironic, but I think it's true that you can never love anyone else until you start to love yourself.

NJmomabear agony auntWatch when you get back into a committed relationship because the time you take for yourself can easily slip away due to chores, kids, job, social demands and any other expectations placed upon you.

I used to be like you and your right, its WONDERFUL. I'm struggling to get that back.

hi there i agree with you love is the most discussed subject people talk about, yet love can not be classed as one thing for each perosn explains love in the way he see's it. i once described love like meat, you can have it raw boiled, fried, grilled ect and u can have it with seasoning ect love is just the same. you find that love is to love yourself first but others may not.

im happy you have found your love meat and i hope i find mine lol
