I feel soo self conscious about it, when is it gonna just go away!! I have it all over my face and it just keeps on coming back. I don't open up or even try to ask a girl out because of it, I feel that they're just going to reject me because of it. It just brings down my confidence down a whole notch!! I've tried proactive (didn't work - don't waste your money on that) and I've tried skin id (it kinda worked, it gave me better skin but it still didn't get rid of the pimples, I don't know what to do....Are there any home remedies to get rid of this??? Anything that could help????

Acne is a condition caused by many factors, both genetics as well as physiological and psychological (which affect the physiology of your body)
It is believed that one of the biggest factors that cause acne is an increase in hormones called androgens (male sex hormones). These hormones increase in both boys and girls during puberty.
Other factors include (allegic reaction to) certain drugs, as well as hormonal changes (natural or reaction to birth control pills).
You may want to look at these sites and see which one is applicable to your conditions:

Pro-Activ worked for me, I started using it after having pimples for 11 years and it was the ONLY thing that ever cleared up my skin besides an antibiotic I took called Trimethoprim (I hope that's right, it's either that or something that sounds exactly like it) but here's the thing, this was the second time I've tried Pro-Activ. The first time I tried it was when I was about 17 (20 now) and it didn't work. Looking back I was using it wrong. Do you massage your face gently with step 1 for at least 1 minute? And do you use all 3 steps morning and night? I didn't keep up with it the first time and I think that's why it didn't work.
But it is true everyone's skin is different, I would see a dermatologist in the meantime. My brother had acne worse than mine and he went on Accutane and his acne went away and it hasn't come back since except for the odd pimple here and there. But be warned, it made his hair break off. He has long hair though, if you don't then don't worry about that.
An antibiotic along with a prescription topical cream like Differin may also work wonders for you. Make sure you keep up with the regimen, using it day and night as directed.
Also, I must mention Cetaphil, an amazing face wash that you can buy at the drug store or supermarket that really gets your face feeling fresh.
Good luck and let us know if you find something that works! I really feel for you, I got my first pimple at age 9 :(

Get a dermatologist, you know, ACNE, is not the darkest side to puberty, the darkest for me was the out of control mood swings, very angery and sad, that was the most horrible time of my life, my best guess for your solution as a home remedie is to just stop eating so much greasy foods, like peanut butter, that breaks you out sick. I had a bit acne during puberty, but I just left it alone, and I can honestly say, with just leaving them, and not eating greasy foods, my skin is flawless.

I used Retin-A plus one other cream thing when I was a teenager, prescribed by a dermatologist. Wasn't a particularly bad case of acne, my Mom just wanted less chance of any kind of scarring. Protective like that.
Burned like a son-of-a-gun at first, made my skin peel like a sunburn, etc. I hated it.
It worked really well.

Try cleansing with Organic Pharmacy carrot butter and muslin cloth followed by Manuka honey cream. - they are fantastic products - available on web based in UK. They do a complete range for oily acne skin and they really work.

reader, anonymous, writes (3 March 2009): For puberty-related acne, doctors normally do not prescribe medication for it. It's only when you have terrible acne that doctor's prescribe expensive meds. My brother had the worst case of it back a few years ago, but the doc prescribed some pills he took daily for months. It was expensive. $60 per month excluding taxes.
You see, puberty acne is a natural phenomena. It's not worth spending money to try to 'lessen' then. Also, just because Pro-Active doesn't work for you, it doesn't mean it doesn't work for others. For myself, I tried "Exposed". It works a little over a year, but my acne comes from a totally different source, so it's not a good way to rid them
You just need to live through it. Drink a ton of water daily, eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and stay regular. Don't stay up late and sleep more. Try not to stress yourself too much. Exercise regularly. Use oil-free and scent-free face lotion. Don't eat a lot of spicy foods and junk.
