Laura1318 agony auntIt could be due to several factors, not enough fore play , unable to relax, not enough lubrications ,a well endowed dick or vaginismus

stuckinthemiddle81 agony auntFirst off, don't feel bad about it. It's happened to the best of us. I sometimes have pain during intercourse (even after I initiate it) and have to stop mid way through. For me, I know it depends on two things: either I am ovulating and my lower abdomin is tender or because I am about to have my period. But for you, it can mean different reasons. You absolutely need to see your gyno for a check up and to ask questions. It can be a number of things: a cyst (like I have also which is killing me as I type this), an infection in the cervix, etc. I hope it is nothing serious but you must go see a doc to eliminate those possiblities. Take care and don't feel bad for your partner--if he's a real man, he'll understand and help you deal with it. =-) Take care of yourself.

A female reader, :):):) United Kingdom +, writes (9 June 2008):

If the pain is internal, like stomach ache, then you should see a doctor as it could be due to a number of things, maybe even an STD.

If the actual pain is penetration itself, this is very common. Take it slow and make sure you are fully relaxed. You could also try using a lubricant. Also aim for positions where you are more in control, therefore you can stop yourself if it hurts (on top would be a good idea)

Good luck
