Okay I'd really like some help on this. Something that has got me down for about 4 years. I'll shoot straight into it. I'm overweight. I'm not huge but I feel it. I don't wear anything that reveals my arms (because they are gross), and i don't wear anything revealing whatsoever. I walk, diet, do sit ups but the weight drops off so slow. I was just wondering if any of you had any tips or anything that would help me. Anything would be helpful and very appreciated. Thank you =)

dmartin89 agony auntI will give you some simple pointers which just helped me drop 20lbs of body fat and put on 10lbs of muscle in the last 6 weeks. I went from 220lbs to 210lbs and im still going! I had gone down almost 2 dress sizes.

1. Eat 30g of protein within 30 minutes of waking up.

I have a two whole egg omlette with a can of tuna and spinach along with green tea, omega 3 and a multivitamin.

2. Dont eat white foods. No pasta, bread, rice.

3. Cut out any food that contains lactose. This causes an insulin spike which tells the body to store fat. No milk, no yogurt. You can buy a milk alternative "Almond milk" from holland and barrett to put in tea and coffee. Put cinnamon in your coffee for sweetness, it is also a great fat burner.

4. Dont count calories, eat high protein meals with lots of veggies and legumes (beans, lentils) Eat until you are full, and you wont feel the need to snack.

5. Get a 7.5kg £20 kettlebell from Argos. Swing it for 10 minutes 3 times a week. Kettlebells are AWESOME

6. Dont drink calories. Dont drink anything with sugar or sweeteners in. The same reason as complex carbs...insulin response - store fat. Sweeteners may be extremely low calorie but it still has the same effect on the body as sugar. "Diet" drinks stopped me buring an extra 2lbs of fat a week!

7. Drink at least 3 litres of water a day. This isnt needed for everyone, but it is exremely helpful for fat buring and repairing muscles. Dont like the taste of water? Add a few drops of lemon juice.

8. Dont eat fruit. Fruit contains a very high amount of frustose, eating fruit is the EASIEST way to get fat. As humans we dont need to eat fruit every day. This is proberly the most conraversial part of the "diet" I have adopted.

9. Once a week you get to go crazy. Eat whatever you want, pizza, doughnuts, cake, chocolate, pasta. Crazy huh? This actually increases you metabolism, one day off your body will be a fat burning machine! I lost 1 inch off my waist the day after my "cheat day".

This method is called the "Slow-carb deit". Created by Tim Ferriss, Author of "The 4 hour work week" and "The 4 hour body".

Just to let you know, I was 150lbs 2 years ago, and this is the fittest and healtiest I have felt in my whole life.

You dont have to take my word for it.

Have a look on this forum, its awesosme :-)

Just keep staying active. There is no "secret" really. Aside from your body's natural metabolic rate, which you cannot control, everything else is up to you. You can maintain the calories you take in and enhance the calories you burn through exercise. If your body no longer has calories to use as an energy source, your cells will natural tap into the fat storages for energy.

Like I said, there isn't any secret. Its Calories In - Calories Out. Keep calories in at a minimum while increasing those you burn through staying active.

Staying active doesn't just have to involve walking. Maybe get involved in a new hobby that keeps you outside or on your feet.

It might be worth you going to the doctor and getting checked out to make sure you're don't have an illness or anything. If the weight is coming off slow, you might have something. Also, a doctor will be able to tell you more about how to diet and exercise in terms of what would be most suitable for you.

As I'm sure you know, exercise releases endorphins and endorphins give you a good feeling. How far and how often do you walk? I would only drink water because there is a lot of sugar in most juices and soda.
