Your hymen can break from many diffferent things as lilpixie stated but losing your virginity is more an emotional expereicne than the actual physics of it all. You are indeed a virgin if you have never had sex.

You can break your hymen through many different activities such as riding a bike, swimming, gymnastics, horse riding, even using tampons.
A broken hymen does not mean that you are not a virgin. So next time someone asks you if you are still a virgin you can answer with yes :)

If you've never had intercourse then you are indeed a virgin. And someone asking you this question is out of line. This is information that you VOLUNTEER if you are so inclined otherwise it's nobody's business.
