you shouldnt contact a docer till your about 16. if you dotn get around your 16th year there sould be a problem. Also ask your mom and grandmother when they had theirs ill give you an example if your mother had hers at 12 and your gradnmother had hers at 14 then you should have it around 13. mabey your mom and grandmom had theirs late aswell

I would recoment going to the doctor or nurse, i know it may seem weird talking to him/her at first, but they are there to help, and if they are female (i would recoment seeing a female doctor)they've been there themself and understand (: hope this helped

A female reader, anonymous, writes (12 April 2010):

my brother at 18 still looked like an 11 year old - six months later and he blossomed fully into manhood with hair, height and that deep deep voice. He went from my little baby bro, to holy cow "a man" seemingly over night :) Some people bloom later than others and some sooner than others - i know someone who started their period at 6 and another girl who started her period at 20 - your body will do it when its ready :)

A female reader, Blod United Kingdom +, writes (11 April 2010):

Blod agony auntNothing. It's normal. Some girls start as young as 8 or 9. Others start much later at about 16. So there's nothing wrong. If you haven't had your first period by the time you're about 16 then check it out with your doctor. But there's nothing to worry about at the moment.

Dont worry about it, your just a late bloomer.

I know youve probably heard this a 1000 times so if your still worried going to see the Dr to set your mind at rest is never a bad idea.

A female reader, IrishGal  Ireland +, writes (11 April 2010):

First of all take a deep breath and relax! It is very normal for people to get their period at different times! some as late as 17! it depends on many differnt things including weight and hormones!

They will kick in soon enough so try not to worry..
