reader, anonymous, writes (12 December 2009): Even if it turns out to be nothing, I would consult my doctor. Could be some kind of vitamin or calcium deficiency, or pregnancy, as was suggested. Too much sugar can take its toll on your health, and add unwanted pounds that can be impossible to shed. Have you tried ice milk? Tastes just like ice cream, but has fewer calories, and in my store it's even cheaper! :) (or try eating it out of a smaller bowl!)

You may be craving calcium so try drinking milk.
Remember to get your multi vitamins and brush your teeth after it and you should be fine.
Plus make sure you are getting lots of exercise to counter all the sugar you'll be getting.

At your age, I ran through a phase where I ate a Powerhouse bar every single day. I have no idea if they still make them, but my goodness, I can still taste them in my memory.
My guess is that you need some extra calcium and your body has figured out how to get it in you. Try drinking more milk, that is, if you are not lactose intolerant.

I don't think it's anything to worry about, other than it not being very healthy, but i think we all have our cravings... I'm the same with chocolate and coke! (i mean the drink :P)

It's probably just a habit, if you went for at least a month without ice cream, you'd probably stop craving it.
