Question is, are you happy with the way you look? If so, your friends should accept you for how you are, if not then try some new clothes/hairstyles. If money is an issue try charity shops and trainee hairdressers for some budget looks. The better you think you look, the more confident will feel and confidence is always cool.

a good friend is not someone who judges u on the way you look or act, they should take you for who you are. If you not that close then i wouldnt be bothered, you shouldnt have to change who you are for people to like you because in the end you'll get sick of pretending to be somethin that your not

These people are not real friends if they want to be something else than what you are in order for them to like you. Real friends accept you for who you are and would never start being weird with you just because they wanted you to look different.
You need to find out if this is the reason they are being a bit funny with you. Maybe it's for some other reason, like you've said something to upset them or whatever. If it is what you think, and they're falling out with you because they don't like the way you look, get rid of them!
Please don't waste anymore of your time on these people; they sound immature and shallow. Find some real friends who love, respect and accept you for the person you are and everything you want to be. Don't ever change to become what someone else wants.

Obviously they aren't "really good friends" if your appearance embarrasses them in anyway. Best go find some new friends. Good luck and remember it have a friend you need to be a friend.
