raiders agony auntMake sure you get retested because just because you tested negative doesn't mean you don't have the virus is just not enough to get detected. If you had sex with your girlfriend with out protection that increases the chances of you getting the virus, so please get re-tested in a few weeks to see if anything changes from here to than. There is no cure do not pay any money. Your girlfriend might want to put the blame on you.

A female reader, Laura1318 Malaysia +, writes (12 April 2010):

Laura1318 agony auntIt is possible to be infected with HIV and have a test come back negative, depending on the test and how soon after infection you are tested.

If you receive a negative test, you should be sure to get re-tested at least six months after exposure to ensure seroconversion (change in the body to having a response to the infection) has completed.

Get her a real HIV test and don't give this herbalist anything.

If she's really got it and she really didn't get it from you, then she probably cheated and you're endangering yourself to sleep with her.

sweetspicy agony auntThere's no cure for HIV!

If I were you I would tell that little %*$@ to go %&*# her self.

Her intent is bad and is upsetting you to the point where your loosing it, throw that fish back into the fish pool.

She is tring to upset you, possibly has a non-curable life threatning disease from some one else,

And your asking what to do? are you serious? stay fresh and clean.

A male reader, shadowjin United States +, writes (12 April 2010):

shadowjin agony auntmost people will develop detectable antibodies within two to six weeks of infection, although some seroconvert later (99% will have detectable antibodies within three months of HIV infection). If shes positive and your negative than you didnt give it to her.

Shes lying to you.. there is no cure for HIV only treatments but no cure. I would leave her.. no amount of love is worth dealing with a liar. Especially on something this serious that has NO CURE.

A female reader, Laura1318 Malaysia +, writes (12 April 2010):

Laura1318 agony auntI think she is trying to con you of your money or she is being conned by the crooked herbalist or they are in it together .

When you are infected, the virus will multiply in your body for a few weeks or even months before your immune system responds. During this time, you won't test positive for HIV, but you can infect other people.

When your immune system responds, it starts to make antibodies. When this happens, you will test positive for HIV.

It is possible to infect others without knowing that you have AIDS or even if you are tested negative.

There is no cure for AIDS.Any traditional or herbal method is just B.S

A female reader, anonymous, writes (12 April 2010):

I'm so sorry to hear about this. But if you are negative I always thought it was impossible to give somebody HIV or any disease if you don't have it. And it is possible maybe I hope not but has she been sneaking around with other guys. And that's why she's avoiding you bcus maybe she is guilty anf feels bad about accusing you?

A reader, anonymous, writes (12 April 2010):

First, tell her to get re-tested at a licensed doctor. Sounds like that guy just wanted your money.

Second, you can only get HIV from another HIV positive person. If you got it from a negative person, that would mean you are a carrier and have the cure for it, basically. So, no that is not possible.

Third, she could have got it from any other persons bodily fluids, either through a cut, needles/syringes, infected blood transfusion, or infected blood getting in her eyes or nose. Or maybe she has had it since birth. Or maybe she cheated on you, or was date raped...

Either way, you don't have it. If she is going to be ignorant, just move on.

i totally agree with @CaringGuy!!!

if you are negative then there is no way that you could have given her the virus!

it is not possible what so ever, maybe she got it else where and doesn't want to tell tell you.

no herbalist or medicine man can heal HIV!!!!

you need to really leave her and move on.

A male reader, CaringGuy United Kingdom +, writes (12 April 2010):

Nothing can cure HIV, so it's likely that this other person pretended she had an infection to get her money. You're negative, and have not got the virus. And that's what matters. You need to leave her, since she doesn't trust you and has pulled away. Move on.
