writes: OK I know this sounds weird and a lot of you who read this will probably think i'm an idiot asking this.Is the type of skin cells on a clitoris the same to that on the "head of a penis"? The reason I ask is that I heard something like that and when I touched my "head" it was quite sensitive (it was almost painful).

If it is due to having sexual intercourse and now has become painful to touch...see the good ole doctor.
It is full of never endings, your glans penis so it should be "sensitive".

My understanding is that it's the same original part of the embryo/foetus which develops differently into male or female so I guess that's a yes.

I am not sure about this at cell structure level but the clitoris does engorge with blood during arousal but to a lesser degree than a penis. I think because the clitoris is so much smaller, it has more sensitivity in a confined area but since no one to my knowledge has both that we know are fully functional we are unable to know.
