I mean, I made the kids and my husband a big breakfast, but now, I just want to be alone, play guitar all day. Is this "holiday" really supposed to be for the kids to celebrate with me, am I just being selfish? Reply to this Question Share |

Glad you had a good day. I did. Slept and played guitar. Had to get a song ready for recording today. That will be a good time as well. Have a wonderful week.

Single daddys deserve a mamas day too. I ended up having a great time. Spent a little time with my guitar, and the rest with my 2 kids, 6 and 10 months. Although I couldnt even go to the bathroom without the whole crew following me, I really appreciate them. I took them to my favorite water fall in the afternoon, and now they are sleeping, so thought I'd give my thanks to you 3, for easing the guilt I woke up with this morning. Tomorrow, back to reality:)

It's your day. You deserve a day to yourself. I'm a single father. My kids were gone with grandparents for the weekend, I missed them, but really needed time to relax without obligations.

I don't think you are being selfish at all. Sometimes us moms need a little space for ourselves to BREATH. and u have 2 little ones so I know is exhausting. I truly think you deserve 1 day off to relax & do your things. don't feel bad. you deserve it. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Tell your husband and kids that the best gift they can give you is some alone time. The kids probably won't care, to be honest, since they spend so much time with you anyway, and you husband will understand. It's not selfish at all.
Besides, what's wrong with being a little selfish sometimes anyway? Your life can't constantly revolve around other people. Sometimes you need time to worry only about you, or you'll go crazy! Take time to enjoy yourself, everyone else will be ok!
