Hi
I am thirty and I had missed my periods for two years but I kept it to myself I went to see my local GP and she gave me a full blood count blood test which came back normal she then referred me to a really nice female Gyno who gave me hotmone tablets to force them on whuch failed then she pescribed Yasmin the pill I have been on and off them because I had gallbladder disease which I had to get my gallbladder removed. My last appointment with my gyno she said she recommends that I keep taking them for 6 months i am now in my 3rd my have come with pill whether or not they will come once I am off the pill I not sure just have to wait and I have been checked for polycistic ovaries but it was negative I am also non sexual active the problem when ur not sexual active ur can never determine why you actually missing ur periods my suggestion is that you go and have a blood test and get ur doctor to refer you to a gyno they know the best what's going on down there they deal with female reproductive system I hope it goes well.

I'm sixteen, i faced a similar problem so i took the test for safety. Just go for a sonography, it isnt painful or anything, its better to find out fast than never cause it can later develop into Poly-cystic ovaries disease (PCOD) which you don't want! if you do have it, then all u need to do is take some medication and ul be fine soon. :)
symptoms of PCO are putting on weight and irregular periods. Do it fast, take care!

Question...do you suffer from acne or darker hair growth in places such as your stomach or face (ie. more like male pattern hair growth)?
If you do, even if you don't...have your doctor check you for polycystic ovaries. I have it..ever since I was 12 my periods have been abnormal..like I'm talking skipping 5-7 months at a time & there was no chance I was pregnant either. Those other 2 things are also symptoms of polycystic ovarian syndrome. Another possibility is Endometriosis--tissue grows on the outside of your reproductive organs which can mess with your period & can make for very painful cramping when you do get your period.
Talk to your doctor, and going on the pill is the best answer for now because it will regulate your cycles and decrease pain/cramping associated with your period.
