writes:I never liked guys before. I always just thought I wasn´t old enough. Recently I just finished my first year in High school. This past year I found myself liking girls, I even kissed one! None of my friends or family know. Is it wroong that I like girls, and how can i tell if i´m a lesbian? I´ve never kissed a guy so how cab i be sure? What should I do??

i think its totally ok to like girls im still at high school and i like girls and my friends dont mind.i think its fine to be gay and by the sounds of it you are so dont ignore that embrase it and just be happy about it

reader, anonymous, writes (3 July 2011): There is absolutely nothing wrong with liking girls. However, I wouldn't make a show of it or 'come out of the closet' just yet. Look around at all of the guys you know. do any of them spark your interest? Do the same with all of the girls you know. Ask again, do they spark your interest? Furthermore, don't rush into anything physical with a girl because you 'want to be sure if you're a lesbian or not'. This could be a phase, it could be you realizing your sexuality. Just let it sit in your head for a while before acting upon it. Know that someones gender isn't a defining factor if you like them. Sexuality can be a very gray area.Good luck!

If you are not attracted to men but are attracted to girls, you are gay.It is not wrong at all to feel this way!You might like to wait a few years before telling your family, as your feelings might change, or your family might think it is a phase. You are more likely to be taken seriously if you are a little older - many teenagers do experiment.Don't worry about who you are attracted to, just be comfortable with it and above all be sensible and safe.Good luck!

First, there's nothing wrong with liking women. It might be a bit soon to just assume that you're a lesbian however. Have you never felt attracted to a guy at all? Perhaps you just haven't met a guy that you liked yet. But on the other hand, if it's because you simply are attracted to women and not men there's nothing wrong with that. Be who you are and try not to worry too much about what your friends and family will say.

this is normal, when i was you're age i wasn't entirely sure, but i know now that i am completely straight, but you may just be lesbian, and what is wrong with that? NOTHING AT ALL! you are who you are, you are free to love who you want, you are free to be with anyone of any gender! you get to pick!
try kissing a boy and see what happens, if it does not compare to kissing a girl, then that might be an indicator.
try searching on google or something, that might help :)
otherwise, enjoy life and see where it takes you!
