Is it weird to make a silicone doll of my girlfriend?

Hi Agony Aunts! I have an interesting question that I want to ask. Well I love my girlfriend so much that I would want to do something grand. I am planning on making a life-size doll version of my girlfriend in silicone like the ones I have seen online (i.e., Realdoll, Candy Girl, etc.). I know it may seem too crazy to do that, but I really wanted to go all the way because I love her so very much. Do you think it's a good idea to do it or do you feel it seems weird and disturbing? Thanks for the feedback!

I think it all depends what its for if you are using it then I guess If I were your girlfriend it would make me feel better that you want two of me rather than something looking completely different. I just don't know if it's a good gift depends if she is into that. if it's just a doll to have around I guess that is a litlle creepy.

I really want to do that because if any guy or girl feels the same way about immortalizing their love ones in various media, then it wouldn't be a bad thing. The only thing that would make it bad is how would you use it. I'm not saying that I am obsessive about her, I just feel that I would place her on a golden pedestal because she's my beautiful princess. If you ladies have a guy who would do that for you, then maybe that could be one way of showing that they care about you so much (but if they just want to have sex with it as a replacement, then they're crazy). Either way, it doesn't matter. I might experiment on this.

duce00 agony auntOld men with doll hair are creepy...old women who's faces that are pulled so tight they look like they are in a wind tunnel are creepy...people in apartments with high powered telescopes pointed at they're neighbors are creepy...circus clowns with big nasty laughs are fricken uber creepy!

This dude is quite garden variety in my opinion.

I would invite him over for a deep discussion of liquid polymer compounds and advanced modeling techniques, no problem.

Anybody for a few gummy bears?

Tisha-1 agony auntYou have a point, duce. I hate to admit it, but you have a point. The poster should use whichever medium he prefers. If it's lifelike silicone doll, more power to him.

It's just that I had this story pop into my head when I read the question: http://www.loneleeplanet.com/2009/03/japanese-love-dolls-taboo/

[I love the male one, sitting with a beer, classic!]

The last thing you want is to come off as a pathetic and somewhat creepy guy, hence my concern about the lifelike doll thing.

duce00 agony auntThis is high art and an example of true love here ladies...do not snicker...slaps on all your hands...or someplace else for those of you that like that...

Many men have little dolls with needles in them of their girlfriends unlike this wild and kinky Michelangelo.

Frankly I am deeply impressed with his artistic desire to immortalize his beloved in all her fleshy glory.

We laugh now but maybe you should take a stroll through some modern art exhibits in major cities. We could all say we knew him when...

well duce...you have a point, but...there are levels of weirdness, just like the parking garage at the hospital. Granted this may not be the top level...but you still have to go down to get out. Anyway our OP is willing to use his creativity elseways. Lol

Tisha-1 agony aunt"I'm rubber and you're glue" takes on a fresh feel... you know, the "I'm rubber and you're glue, anything you say bounces off me and sticks to you!"

For some reason, I seem to have sunk to middle-school humor here.... *ponders*

I know. It's Birdy's fault. She started it.

LOL I'll just do a sculpture of her then because I think it would be a better art form than silicone.

Thanks! Awesome ideas and I couldn't agree more. I'll do sculptures of her (although if I did it in silicone, it would be an interesting achievement. Who knows). I'm not trying to make a sex doll based on her, and besides I haven't seen her full body so that wouldn't be an option.

duce00 agony auntIt is only weird if the doll starts telling you to knock off your girlfriend and start a rubber girlfriend cult with her as the leader.

Otherwise it sounds more rational than a lot of the shit we see these days.

i agree a sculpture has a whole different connatation than a silicone doll. a sculpture or a painting would be flattering in my opinion but a doll...is just sort of ...creepy.

A female reader, Tisha-1 United States +, writes (14 November 2009):

Tisha-1 agony auntRather than do a silicone model of her--which sounds a bit like an inflatable doll or sex toy--why don't you sculpt her image in clay? Make a bronze sculpture if you can afford it?

I think that would result in something that is truly a work of art, and not something that has dubious connotations. Just a thought.

Well, I talked to her and she said that I can do that, but I think that I may not do it because like you guys said, there can be consequences if I ever did that. Keep in mind though that if the doll is made, then I wouldn't say the doll would be a replacement of her, but more as an artwork of her. Besides, I always draw her and make paintings of her, but I just wanted to do it that way as a tribute to her. Any other suggestions? LOL I know that's a silly question, but I really love her so much that I really would do all the way in doing that. I know that there are guys who would go all the way in showing their love for their honeys and I just wanted to go above and beyond to make a sculpture of her.

Tisha-1 agony auntI think this is more about you than her. Intriguing, but basically it would distract your attention from her. I'm with Birdy. This could backfire in a big way.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (14 November 2009):

Yes it is weird. If I was your girlfriend I would worry that devotion and attraction just turned the freak-corner into obsession and possession.

I would also assume that the doll is more for you than it is for her. What do you expect her to do with it? You are thinking (I would assume) of what you would like to do to it, perhaps when she is occupied doing something else.

So, yes, it is a little frightening and I would not do it.

Legioness agony auntI don't really see it as being weird or anything, I mean, women get 'mold your own dildo' kits where they actually mold it on their fella's penis.. But then again that is only the one body part, perhaps a whole life sized figure would be a bit too far.. Maybe just make one of her lips or something along those lines? :)

A female reader, pinktopaz United States +, writes (14 November 2009):

Yes, I agree--it's weird and a little flattering. If my boyfriend did that, I wouldn't know if I should run for the hills or think, "Wow, he loves me so much he made me into a doll." So your girlfriend could have the same response, I think to most it is definitely out of the ordinary, so it's up to you if you want to take that chance. I mean, I guess if she leaves you, you still have a doll of her...

birdynumnums agony auntSounds kind of hotly weird, and yet somehow, flattering!

I'd have to say, in this situation, this could really backfire on you, even if you have the purest of intentions.

I would have to take a pass if I were you - I wouldn't guarantee any positive response from this idea.
