Does it really matter to men that it is our time of the month when they want to have sex, because I told this dude I'm talking to it is my time of month but he still wants to have sex. What should I do?

It depends on your preference. Some women have sex on their period, and some just don't. Just as long as you use a condom, it's okay. If you want my opinion, I'm not too crazy about it because it can get messy and you and your bf may have to worry about blood stains on the sheet.
The choice is yours. It is your body, and Good Luck!!!

No matter WHAT sex you are, male or female, everyone has a different preference as far as this goes. As long as you are both clear of any type of transmissible disease, have no open sores, and are using a condom, it's not harmful in any way to have sex during your time-of-the-month. If you don't enjoy having sex during your period, then you certainly shouldn't feel obligated to do so. It's different, it's messy, it can be either comforting or intense. There's a bit more clean up afterwards. Women who have sex during their cycle often find that the contractions of the uterus during orgasm helps to stimulate the flow and causing their periods to seem a bit shorter. Some men are completely turned off by it, others are the opposite. Some men like to give oral sex during your menses - this is fine too - but it's especially important to use a dental dam during oral sex because of the possible transmission viruses that could be in the menstrual blood.
I would never suggest sex during your period to anyone who has ever had apprehensions or felt faint at the sight of blood, and there are plenty of people who don't like the sight of blood, men and women. This is definitely a situation where it is "Your Body - Your Rules", so let your own feelings on the matter be your guide.

In my experience, there wasn't even much blood - mind you, I usually only did it on "light flow" days - who feels up to sex on heavy flow days to begin with anyway! Nothing bad will happen except a little mess. You might want to put a dark towel underneath you, or a white one that you can bleach. Some men will absolutely refuse to have sex with a woman who's on her period; others don't have a problem with it - just depends on the guy. But period or no period, be sure to use protection!
