I'm 37 weeks in like two days) My doctor told me that I could have the baby any time between now and June 10th -- my due date). So recently I've had the urge to just eat like crazy even when i'm not hungry because i've screwed up really bad during this pregnancy (smoking and drinking to much soda) and not enough milk)(And not taking my prenatal vitamins... So now i'm scared that my baby is going to be under weight. With health problems. I personally don't think i'm that big) I got pregnant when I weighed 105 lbs now I weigh about 140 pounds. But I look at other people and they look huge compared to me =( Is it ok to eat so much or should I only eat when i'm hungry..? Reply to this Question Share |

All a baby needs each day is what you eat normally, plus around half a sandwhich (as in a sandwhich made with 2 slices of normal bread from a loaf) extra. So really eating half a sandwich a day extra is not that much is it?!
I'm sure your baby will be fine, the smoking is not good but that wont really affect the weight of the baby - but it is too late to worry about that now. Just eat normally, dont smoke, dont drink alcohol and try and rest as much as you can. Eat when you are hungry, dont deprive yourself of anything you want but dont try and force yourself to eat either.
I hope this helps and good luck!

Only eat when you are hungry. You gained 35 pounds so far ,which is fine. And in these final weeks of your pregnancy you are gonna gain about an ounce a day.
