Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, and only took remedial Biology in high school. It is possible that sex (with orgasm) can improve and ease your menstrual cycle. If you are getting cramps after sex without orgasm, it might be you are already in your period, and that you have unresolved vasocongestion, which is caused by increased vascular blood flow and a localized increase in blood pressure. Usually orgasming will release the blood flow and make it far less likely to get cramps when you have your period, if the sex happens around the same time as your period. There's a ton of web sites out there you can consult with questions like yours that give all the details of how periods work, so I'd recommend "googling" for more info if you are interested.

It could happen if you were due on that date, it doesn't necessarily mean that the sex made it happen or anything!
Try not to worry! :)
