I said that the original was over-hyped and I didn't really see anything special in it. And scores of people pounced on me from all ends with scathing personal attacks, saying I've no sense of aesthetics and stuff, and that its people like me because of whom trashy films are hits. I fought them off, but its deeply disturbed me. WTF is wrong with the world? Is it a crime to have an opinion that goes against the grain? I though individuality was something to be upheld? Was I wrong then? I'm extremely upset and this is spoiling my concentration on studies.

Don't be afraid to behave different from the norm.
I do it often deliberately because I like to be different from the brainwashed sheeple. I don't care what people think.
Don't get upset but be proud of your own opinions.

Well it's how some people behave on the internet. They can be mean, superficial s^^theads who get worked up about nothing. Life lesson learned.I understand you're upset but look at it like this; you didn't do anything wrong, so why should you be upset? You can't control other people's behavior, just your own. You have a backbone because you had the courage to voice your own belief despite what everyone else thought, and finally... people are jerks. Move on. :)

I think it was just a moment of rage that other people jumped on the bandwagon....after all stupidity in numbers is strangely toxic. Difference in opinions does not mean you were wrong of course, but there is a battle when you voice against the norm and realistically it is expected.
