Not show off. Perhaps 'flex', as it's called. Much like male animals in the wild who do physical things to get attention, so is this guy. He wants you to see he's the best at something so he can get your attention. He fancies you.

 well it's funny how u take his act as a show off one..
he is just involving u in something that he adores more like his passsion and wants u to be part of it..
this is a definite sign he likes u and wants u to see what he excels in..I think it's pretty sweet!
well if he invites to show his big house or his cars or shw his watch collection now that's showing off..a mere music performance is not..
So just. Go and enjoy and stop pondering over tiny things as this
