i agree with these people. even seasoned adults face risks when they get involved in online (or even real life!) dating. at your age i just do not think you are experienced enough to deal with the sort of people that may be using these sites. think of ways other ways to meet boys in real life,ie school, clubs or through friends so you can be sure they are what they say they are

I wouldn't recommend it for someone of your age. Nearly all dating sites are aimed at those over 18 for safety. You could find yourself the target of men who you don't want to know. As Dirtball says, look locally and meet guys your own age in your own time.

I agree with Dirtball....try the old fashioned way.
I also think a young lady like yourself would be far better meeting a boy naturally first ....i remember when i was 14/15 it was so much fun meeting local boys...friends of friends etc, i would have been very bored dating online....we used to meet up in groups go for a soda and all have a giggle and if we liked each other carry on if not try another in the group.
You seem very sensible because you ask the question about is it safe to date online. It's 50/50 the thing is as you know, you don't know the person in real time , you judge and accept what ever you are told....please be careful and if you did arrange to ever meet up...most certainly make sure you let people know and take a friend along with you.

 Online dating isn't inherently unsafe, but it's not particularly safe either. I would highly recommend against it at your age, in fact, most online dating sites won't let you sign up until you're 18.
I'd recommend instead looking more locally and doing things the old fashioned way. Online dating didn't exist until a decade ago. People somehow managed before it. You can too.
