I have struggled with this also. It is not easy, but here are the things I tell myslelf everyday. It could be that we live longer then any other generation before us, perhaps to 120 according to some studies, We will also need to work longer because of the lack of retirement pension, so in most cases we will be in contact with all ages for longer, we will need to be healthier and stronger then the generation before us. We have the best nutritional and scientific resources to change the rules about aging. Most of all, I remind myself to relax and enjoy every moment. For most of us, the thirties and forties can be our best years. And now more then ever we can look younger longer and enjoy the fruits of our wisdom, the planets truly align in your 30's.And yes, Pop culture actually cares the most about what we think, we still consume the most material goods, dictate what is acceptable for both generation X and Generation Next. The world revolves around us, for at least another 5 yrs. Enjoy those and try to make them good for the people around you. Use Vitamin A retinoin on your face, work out everyday, read the power of now, by Eckart Tolle, and kick life in the nuts.Peace.

Seriously, I do remember turning 30. It was difficult! Actually, it was more difficult than turning 40, or even 50. But I don't know...60 is going to be a bitch!!!!
I believe age is a state of mind! If you tell yourself you are old, you will feel old.
Relax...the best in life is yet to come!

In your teens, you're still a kid (legally and otherwise... ugh). In your 20s, you're just new to the "real world" and getting your bearings, finding a job/career and figuring out who you are in this world of adults, etc.
But in your 30s, man oh man. Party time! You have the advantage of looking like you're in your 20's, but with the sophistication and wisdom that comes with being older. You couldn't pay me to repeat my 20s again. I was still filled with all of my teenage angst until my late 20s, and then I finally came into my own and being my own person.
Now, that said, if you are who I think you are, consider this: on the whole, people live into their 90's. My grandmother is 102, going on 103 this year. That's at least 60 years to get your life going the way you want it to. Double the amount of time you've been on this earth. So, what are you waiting for? Get moving!
On the other hand, you could be crossing the street and get hit by a bus, so the same thing holds true. What are you waiting for? Get moving! Its as long or as short as you make it.

Now, the question is: why do you care what others think and feel? Does this have any correlation to that other thread you posted recently on how you can deal with being single at 30? If that isn't you, then well it isn't you, but if it IS you, then my gosh, go out some more instead of getting stuck in this tomb you're digging yourself into. The more you think about stuff like this, the more you're going to bury yourself in this misery you may have.

I'd regard it as a 'mature' age. You're not a young adult anymore, but nor have you yet reached early middle-age (circa late 30s onwards).

My sister is 31, 3 kids, married for 7 years, but she is a total hottie! most of it is just her attitude. She isn't afraid to be smart and witty, or ditzy, or to laugh at anything and joke with her kids. She jsut stays young at heart, and that really seems to be what makes people view her as young.

I'd love to be 32 again. It's young to me. I guess it feels old to you, though. I'm going to guess that it doesn't matter how many people tell you it's young, or that age is relative, you've decided it's old.
To a 10 year old, it's old. To a 48 year old like me, it's young. I feel young, by the way. I'm in pretty good shape; I'm taking care of myself. Are you?

I don't think of 32 as old. Mind you, I'm only 20, but still! I have people in my regular circle of friends who are older than that, and they're some of the coolest "kids" I know!
