The hCG hormone that pregnancy tests are looking for is only present when you are pregnant. It is a totally different hormone than the pill produces in your body. You will get an accurate reading as long as it's 6 days before your period and you use your first urine of the morning. It's really important to find out SOON if you are pregnant, because you shouldn't be on the pill it you are. Good Luck.

You should be able to get an accurate reading while on the pill. But if you ever think that you may be pregnant, see your doctor!! Tests there can be much more accurate.
