I think being subtle is important. If you come on too strong and the feeling isn't reciprical you'll send them running. Make small comments on how you love the way you "talk" or smile. Test for reactions and if it seems favorable, then ask if they've ever felt like more than a friendship.

Tine agony auntone way or the other i think that you need to keep your feelings to yourself otherwise if u let everything go then your friend will feel too uncomfortable around you and before you know it you will see less and less of them.
