ahh i remember my first date. did the same thing, movie. but had a dinner before hand. it kinda broke the ice a little, gave us a chance to have a chat. cant remember what we chatted about, was so long ago. but all i can say is relax, maybe talk about the movie? have a little joke with him. just have fun and dont take it all too seriously. after all your only young, so it should be fun. if he makes a little gesture during the movie, like putting his arm around you or whatever, just enjoy it but if you dont feel comfortable you dont have to do anything.
a good tip is to maybe share a bucket of popcorn, that way it makes it a little bit more romantic. like i said before have fun!

I understand how you feel. I think everyone feels just as nervous as you do on the first date and probably for a while after until they feel more 'experienced' and 'confident'.
But the guy you are dating will be feeling just like you! In fact, he will probably be so worried about what you think of him, he probably wont notice if you see nervous, quiet, or say something 'stupid'.
My best advice to you would be to think of a list of questions or topics of conversation to talk to your date about before you meet him. This way, if there is an awkward silence you can just refer to the list you have in your head for ideas of what to say.
Remember to smile!
And after the movie, you can always talk about how you did/didnt like the movie.
Thank him for the date and tell him you had a good time.
As for during the movie, well the good thing about movies is you can pretty much get away without saying much or anything at all because you can be 'concentrating on watching the movie'. So just do that :) hope it goes well! let us know.

The best advice i've heard for first dates is to just enjoy yourself, rather than keep thinking about what the other person thinks of you. Just see it as a way to get to know him better.

Going to the movies is just about the least awkward date you can have, don't worry! You don't have to think of funny things to say, and you don't have to keep the conversation going, all you have to worry about is watching the movie. It might be a little awkward at first, seeing as it's your first date, but once the movie starts you'll be fine!
