writes:Right, so... where to start.Well, i lost my virginty to my boyfriend at the beginning of this month. We've had both protected and unprotected sex (stupid, yes i know).I started my period 2 days, 1 day early. Normally when I'm on, the blood is red, however this time it's been brown and it sort of smells vinegar like. I was just wondering if it's normal or if it could be an STD or something and whether i should get it checked out. I've already told my boyfriend that I'm worried about this and he said he'd get tested if I do.I know that he has had sex with his previous 2 girlfriends, both have cheated on him. LilPixie is verified as being by the original poster of the question I've finally been able to go back to see my doctor today after having to wait 2 weeks for an appointment :(
Good news though, it was only thrush and she described me some capsules for it, i took it this morning so it should clear up in the next few days, but i think me and my bf have both learned a lesson from this and will be more careful in future.

LilPixie is verified as being by the original poster of the questionI went to the doctors again today to have the tests done, she told me to call in on tuesday to ask for the results...
I also asked for the pill which she prescribed me straight away and i'll start taking them when i next have my period.
I'll keep you updated on the results.

 Bleeding brown blood can be normal because thats just old blood that maybe wasnt bled out from your last period, the vinegar smell bothers me though. Very VERY good idea to get tested ^_^ good luck!

 I suggest both of you should go for a checkup and have the 2 of you tested for std. That would give you peace of mind.
However with the symptoms you're having, sometimes it is not really reliable so it is best that you have a test.
