Can anyone help. I suffer from depression. Have been bullied at work, reported it to my bosses, nothing happened, reported it to HR and still nothing happened. I collapsed with stress on 31.10.08 and been off work ever since. Not a card from work, no contact, no one cares. I feel so alone and in the dark, doctor says i should go to Citizens Advice, dont know how to talk to them about it. I am so down, can anyone help me. Please xx

Look after youself hunny and when u get over this depression, get some friends outside of work as I have learned the people in work you think r ur friends are NOT, they r only WORK COLLEAGUES, usually not real friends. Don't expect anything from them, they only go to work bcs they have to. I have learnt this.

Have you tried St John's Wort - it is a herbal antidepressant you can buy at Boots - it helps with depression and is as good as antidepressants, please try it but check it out for side effects if you are on tablets for other complaints. xxxx good luck

Hmmm, I don't possibly know what exactly to say to help you. However, I do hope whatever I say helps you. You are a grown woman and sometimes I think depression is nothing but a phase. I think it also goes along with you letting certain things, little things bother you. You can get over depression it just starts with you, your confidence level, how you look at yourself, and how you feel about yourself. Yes I do agree with "Ginalolabridga" if you suffer than you shouldn't suffer in silence. If something that is going on for too long then scream about it (and I don't mean literally scream) just make yourself heard. If nobody is trying to listen then force them too. Do whatever it takes until you are happy. Everyone else can get their way and why can't you. You have to try for yourself too, you can't just go to Citezen's Advice and expect everything to get better just like that, yea sure they can help you and we can help you on here too but how are you going to help yourself? Make it possible that you make life better for yourself because yes nobody does care, as long as their life is good. Right? Make your life good because nobody is always going to care.

A male reader, Awiserowl United Kingdom +, writes (23 January 2009):

I've been here before with my wife. Are you a member of a union? If you are then contact them immediately.

If not then it could be a big problem although H/R are failing in their duty if they do nothing. Suggest you write to them and demand to know what they intend to do about your complaint. Keep everything in writing and make a diary of your own and others actions.

If you feel unable to go back to work then you either bite the bullet and leave with no recompense or leave and then take the firm to a tribunal citing constructive dismissal. Sorry to say that this is extremely hard to prove and if you win then you could find it very difficult to get another job once they find you have taken a previous employer to a tribunal. Sorry but the law always favours the businesses in this country. Citizens advice may be able to help and everything you tell them is in total and complete confidence. You must talk and not bottle it up though.

I really wish I could help more because it can totally wreck your life and those around you. Keep talking to your doctor and any family and friends. There are also a couple of anti bullying sites on the net although mostly aimed at children.

Good luck and sorry I can't help more.
