I'm not on birth control. Can I get pregnant?

I'm not on birth control but when I have sex with my boyfriend he doesn't ejaculate inside my vagina.

He normally ejaculates on my stomach but last weekend he was a bit slow pulling out and some of his sperm went in me. It was mostly outside but I could feel some got in.

He told me not to worry because this happened before and I did not fall pregnant but I am still worried that it might happen.

I am in high school and cannot get birth control so we have been doing this way. What are the chances of falling pregnant from a little sperm and when will I know?

P.S. I urinated and washed afterward.

Firstly hun, u can get the pill or some sort of contraception anywere, go to your nearest clinic and ask them, there is no excuse for not using contraception. And yeh you could be pregnant, but its takes a healthly woman an average of a year to conceive so although you could be pregnant there is also a big chance that your not. Wait for you next period and then do a test on the day you are due if you have not come on already. Hope i helped and good luck xx

not trying to scare you or anything but yeah you could definitely get pregnant that way. i had a friend who got pregnant under similar circumstances, except they weren't even having penetrative sex. just the precum rubbing her vulva did it... you should get on birth control or at least use condoms. you can get them at pretty much any store, or a lot of towns have planned parenthood centers where you can just get them for free. if you want to go on b.c. but you're worried about your parents finding out you're having sex or something, you could just mention going on it to your doctor... they have a confidentiality rule where they won't tell your parents about being on birth control if you don't want them to.

A female reader, pebble United Kingdom +, writes (21 April 2009):

pebble agony auntWhy can't you get birth control? Why is it impossible to go to the doctors and ask to be put on the pill? Or pop to a family planning clinic where condoms are usually free? I don't get it.

And surely, the mature, sensible thing to do if you indeed can't get birth control would be not to have sex...?

Washing or peeing won't get rid of sperm that are already inside you and just because this happened once before and you didn't get pregnant, does NOT mean you won't get pregnant.

He ejaculated inside you. Plain and simple. Whether it was a little or a lot - it only takes one sperm to make a baby. Now all you can do is wait until your period arrives and take a test.

Katy. agony auntI made this mistake, having unprotected sex; and its seriously not worth it, until you have the experience where you think you might be pregnant or what not, nothing really persuades you otherwise. But trust me, even if he doesn't come in you, anywhere near you or whatever, sperm swims and it's really powerful, so its still possible. Use protection whether he says he can't feel as much or not, make him! it's you who's going to have to go through it all not him if anything does happen. And you can get birth controll pills at your nearest sexual health clinic for free, i'd suggest that if you really want unprotected sex.

And I think the other guys have answered the rest for you.

But i'd advise going for the morning after pill if it was in the last 72hours.

A female reader, k_c100 United Kingdom +, writes (21 April 2009):

k_c100 agony auntYes you can get pregnant - any contact with sperm can cause pregnancy. Men have a thing called pre-cum, where a little semen comes out of the penis before ejaculation (up to a couple of minutes before ejaculation) and this contains a huge amount of sperm! Therefore you can get pregnant, the only way not to get pregnant is to use condoms and birth control.

You CAN get birth control, clearly you just cannot be bothered to go to the doctors and get it. No matter how young you are, you can get birth control. Your doctor will prescribe this to you, all you have to do is make the appointment and ask for it! And you must use condoms too, this will stop you from getting STI's. Seen as you have had unprotected sex you need a STI test, while you are seeing your doctor about birth control ask for a STI test too.

Unprotected sex is immature and irresponsible - take responsiblity for your own body and your own life! All your boyfriend will want is to have sex with you, he doesnt care whether or not you get pregnant because it doesnt happen to his body. If you dont want a baby or a disease that can kill you then use protection! It really is that simple - and once you are protected you can have sex as often as you like without having to worry!

Go see your doctor please!

StudentOfLife agony auntYes

There's always a chance of being pregnant even though he doesn't ejaculate in you. Sometime, there's sperm in the pre-cum.

You'll know when you do a pregnancy test / when you're supposed to be in your week.

If you can't have birth control (Which you should be able to get, in my opinion), ask for him to wear a condom to reduce chances of getting pregnant.

Urinating/washing afterward doesn't remove a sperm who found "it's way in".
