Back when I was in high school I was skinny without any boobs. Over the last few years though Ive put on a lot of weight. Although a fair amount went to my belly, a lot also went to my chest. I currently have E cup breasts.

I was sooo jealous of girls like you in school. I would have given anything to have breasts.

Trust me, you are very lucky!!

My boobs were huge in high school too. Just ignore the boys. Silly boys will tease you for being too skinny and not having any boobs so just ignore it.

And remember, girls pay for boobs like yours. Embrace honey.

A female reader, jessica04 United States +, writes (19 March 2009):

jessica04 agony auntIf a boy makes a comment, report it to your schools authorities. It is harassment and you don't deserve it.

Now, about your breasts. I can imagine how awkward you feel being so young and having them be that size. There was a girl I went to school with since we were 12, and I swear her breasts were DD's. She just had such a positive attitude, and was so bubbly and happy, and such a smart little whip that boys never dared to say anything to bring her down be cause they knew they'd have the rest of us to deal with.

Point is, she built her own support group of friends, and eventually she was able to even make fun of her boobs, and we would join in. She knew that her boobs didn't make her the kind of person she was. And the longer you live by that motto, the more others will come to see and know it as well.

Chin up, walk tall! And in the meantime, if you go to fashion websites they can offer advice on what cuts and colors in clothes can help minimize the appearance of your chest size.

I'm going to disagree with the 2 answers below because I too had big boobs at school and NO AMOUNT of telling people about the cultures of Africa will change the amount of grief you get.

Boys are mean, girls are mean. School is horrible.

So what you do is wear big baggy jumpers when ever you can and make sure your shirts are a size too big. My school has sweat shirts so I would keep mine the same size as you would buy a hoodie.

Wear white bras so they can't be seen through your shirt, or vests underneath your shirt so that hides the size as well.

You do need to have some self confidence and be proud of who you are. Don't slouch as it will mess up your posture for years to come. But you can just keep your clothing slightly baggy so as not to get unwanted attention.

Plus it's quite nice when you come in on own clothes day looking stunning and see all their jaws drop.

Good Luck!! xx

A female reader, k_c100 United Kingdom +, writes (19 March 2009):

k_c100 agony auntThere isnt a lot you can do I'm afraid, just wait for the rest of your body to catch up and when you are older they wont look so big and out of proportion. I think you will love them in a few years time, it is just right now that you will feel they are out of place.

If they make you really unhappy then maybe try going on a diet (not a drastic one please, just some more exercise and a few healthy changes to your diet). I'm only suggesting this because you are a 36 measurement around your back, this suggests you could possibly lose a few inches there and this will help reduce the size of your breasts. But as for the cup size, this will probably stay as a DD for the foreseeable future.

Learn to love them - they will be an asset in the future I promise! I was a 32 DD from the age of 12, and at first I hated my breasts as that was all men looked at when they saw me. They made me feel self-conscious and embarrassed when I did any sports. But now, I love having big boobs (I'm 21 and a 34E now)! They make me feel womanly and I love my hourglass shape, men find them so attractive and most of the time the attention is flattering.

I promise you that you will become more comfortable with them in the future, it is just because you are going through your teenage years when you feel self-conscious about everything.

I hope this helps and good luck!

A female reader, anonymous, writes (19 March 2009):

Women like you have two choices: you can start slouching, wear frumpy clothes to try and hide your breasts and generally feel bad about yourself and how you look. Or you can become really confident about the body you were born with, walk tall and tell those teenage boys to grow up.

Did you know, in some African cultures men don't really care about breasts that much, they just see them as things to feed babies? When they are told about how men in the western world ogle over boobs, they laugh, thinking that it's weird for grown men to act like babies! You need to take the same attitude. Love yourself, and laugh at those rude enough to make comments etc.

And when you're older, if you find they really get you down, you can always get them reduced.

Good luck!
