I think its okay, if you both like each other thats all that matter. I started seeing my boyfriend when I was 16 and he was 19, im now 20 we are still together age has never been an issue for us.

Serinity agony auntWhen I was 17 I dated a 21yr old and the age differnce was perfect. No offense but it's been said that women tend to mature earlier than men. It would have worked out fine but he couldn't seem to keep his "willie" in his pants. If you two are compatible I would say go for it. I don't know if there is a legal age in Canada but if there is and she is not of age yet you should just make sure her parents are o.k. with it so you don't run into leagal problems down the road. Good luck and God bless!

A female reader, red1982 United Kingdom +, writes (4 February 2008):

I would say that this age gap is fine. As long as you are both on the same wavelength I dont see that it will cause a problem, and certainly shouldn't put you off a relationship with her. There are 6 years between myself and my husband and it doesn't cause a problem.

Just bear in mind though that she is not legally allowed to drink in a pub/nightclub etc yet and you are obviously used to being able to do this.

A male reader, kenny United Kingdom + , writes (4 February 2008):

kenny agony auntPersonally i don't see that this age gap should be a problem, it is only 4 years. At the end of the day age is only a number, how a couple feels about one another far supersedes how many numbers are between them. If you like this girl then i say go for it, its fine, 4 years is nothing.

All the best
