 Hello, I'd just like to tell you I got mine when I was 15 (started on my birthday which was annoying) and dont worry, my friend started hers when she was 18.
TRUST ME, enjoy this while it lasts - I thought I wanted my period when i was 12, 13, 14 but then it happens and you want nothing to do with it. They make you cranky, angry, snappy and unpleasant to be around.

the age just depends on the person. it all varies :)
and dont wish it too come along too soon aswell. to be honest your lucky in a way. you dont have to worry about things for now

 Hey you have plenty of time girl. I started mine really late....when I was 17 years old. A senior in high school. There was nothing wrong with me and that is just the way I was. I was a late bloomer anyway. I didn't start developing breasts until I was 14-15 years old. It was weird because every single other girl had theirs and through out most of my high school years I didn't even have it! Don't worry!! :-)

 I was in grade five - ten years old. It varies for different people. Don't worry about it to much, it depends on your body, stress and horomones and all sorts of things! You will get it eventually!
Also, I've had my period for five years now.. and I HATE HATE HATE HATE it. I dread it every month. It's very painful for me to get it, and I literally cannot get out of bed for the whole day..
So sit back and enjoy life..

reader, anonymous, writes (31 May 2009): everyones body is different so there is nothing to worry about. i started my period when i was 11, but on the other hand my mum started when she was 16. This means that you dont start at the same age as your parents so just wait untill the time comes. Also, there is nothing to worry about when it does eventually come because everyone else has to go through it, you may get really bad headaches or constant mood swings but just deal with it because you have it for many years yet!

reader, anonymous, writes (31 May 2009): Don't worry you've got plenty of time for it to start. I started mine a bit younger than you but a few of my friends didn't get theirs til 15 & 16. It sometimes depends on the person and how much your body is developing before hand. Some people are later starters - and 14 isn't a late age to start either. Some people don't start til they're 16,17, or 18!

i was 12. But don't worry it's different for everyone. I know a few people who started when they were 9! And one of my best friends didn't get it till she was 15. So don't worry it'll come :)

reader, anonymous, writes (31 May 2009): I was 12 when i had my first one, my mum was 9! and i have friends that were 14 and 15. My friends sister was 17! It happens at all different times for women. Some girls are realllyy young and some girls quite old. Dont worry about it, you still have a couple years for it to happen yet! Be happy it hasnt begun!

Everyone is different, I knew a girl who got her period in grade 3.
