I wrote the girl of my dreams a song and i plan on giving it to her today. I am really nervous that she is going to think its lame and think i am gay or something. She knows i am writing her one but she doesn't know it is about how great of a person she is. Do yall think it is a good idea and she will be touched or do you think she will will think its corny.

A male reader, cp5lb United States +, writes (3 May 2008):

Yeah it's sweet! BUT, you say she's the "girl of your dreams"

You don't mention how she feels about you. If this isn't already a relationship then it goes one of two ways:

1. She feels the same way but hasn't expressed it. (Never seen this happen)

2. You are in love with her/ She loves you (but "not in that way") Every girl who said how sweet that is knows what I'm talking about.

Try and figure out which one you are walking in to. If it's number two, you might as well forget about it because you're in for a world of heartbreak.

Good news is, there will be a girl who deserves the songs you write. And, you won't have to ask on the internet if she deserves them?

Stayc63088 agony auntHow sweet ! Any girl should love that. Unless maybe she doesn't feel the same way about you. If she doesn't she is a fool and you can call me ;) Good luck !

rcn agony auntIts not corny. Girls like having songs written to them. They do, because its something they have that is not shared with another.

Just about all love songs you hear on the radio have some inspiration behind the song. Here's the best advise I've heard about writing a good love song. Kenny Rogers -- "A good love song says what guys are too afraid to say, but girls want to hear."

A reader, anonymous, writes (2 May 2008):

It all depends on her general outlook on life, and if she's a tomboy or a girl who likes everything coloured pink as to whether she'll think it lame or not.

I doubt she'll think you're gay, but what the hell, if you've gone to all this trouble to write a song there's no harm in giving it to her. I imagine most girls would be extremely flattered and touched. You've nothing to lose, have you?
