I don't judge other people by how they look but I always feel judged by how I look. Whenever I see a man on the street who isn't looking at me, it makes me feel illogically unattractive - I know there are a million reasons for a guy not to check me out, like he only likes blondes where I'm brunette or he's in love with someone or is gay or stressed or just doesn't like spending his free time checking women out on the street! Yet I still feel bad about myself. I'd like to feel my self-worth is defined by other things, particularly if I could have my self esteem come from within rather than depending on others. I'm guessing it could take me a while, but what can I start doing to reach this goal?

Yeh, I agree with the previous poster. There are tons of books that can help you, download a few ebooks or something. You need the repetition and reasoning of a good long book to change your way of thinking. Something that a few paragraphs that people write on this site, just isnt going to help with. Best of luck :)

This is a longshot, but you might like The Four Agreements: http://www.amazon.com/Four-Agreements-Practical-Personal-Freedom/dp/1878424319
The author talks about magic, and other things that may be hard to swallow (were for me) but if you think of it as metaphorical for negative self-talk, etc., there is a lot of wisdom in that book.
