They were awesome, lol, but I was a little afraid my mind had been pushed to its limit like that by a simple cold (severe though it was). Is this normal? Has it happened to anyone else? Should I see a doctor even though I'm over the actual cold now? Reply to this Question Share |

jrns96 is verified as being by the original poster of the questionYeah, hopefully I'm not insane. But if I am, it can't be all that bad when you are messed up enough to seriously believe your cousin is an ostrich (that really happened!) or your cell phone is your super computer/tv remote (that too!).

Yes completely normal. You probably have the flu. Bad fever and the flu can induce hallucinations. It has nothing to do with madness so don't worry. Only worry if they continue long after you have recovered from your illness. I had the flu last month and when trying to read a book it looked like the letters were dissappearing into infinity, if you can imagine that! Very odd but just part of the fun of having flu!

Yes, get a check up with the doctor. Hallucinations are not a good thing, even if you think they're awesome.
