I knew this was a side effect, and I knew i'd be likely to get it as I usually get nauseous from antibiotics and strong painkillers, however I want to be safer! Another reason I started using it is so im not 'on' during my holidays this summer. And also, this Sunday I have a wedding at which i'm bridesmaid. Now I was wondering, if I stopped taking the pill now, after only 2 days, would it cause any damage? And would it affect when my period would come, I don't time it as such, but I was expecting it next week or so, but as its a bit irregular I was hoping taking the pill would stop it from coming on sunday. I was told by my doctor to start taking it straight away. I plan to go and see her to discuss different methods if this makes me feel too ill!If I continued to take it, would the nausea be likely to have stopped by Sunday, because I want to be feeling my best! :) Any advice or info about the pill would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

It depends on which brand you're taking, but in my experience, the nausea doesn't go away right away. Your body is adjusting to the hormones, and it can take six months to a year to fully adjust.
I was constantly nauseous during the first three months I took mine, and even now I still get nauseous from certain foods, which never happened as frequently before.
I'm not sure what effect the pill might have already had after two days, but generally when you stop suddenly, withdrawal is what happens. This is why during the week of placebo pills, you're not really getting your period as much as going through withdrawal in the absence of hormones. So, if you stop, it might bring on some spotting. There's no guarantee the nausea will end, either.
Why not call up your ob/gyn and find out? She would surely know.

The nausea would go away almost immediately. You might get a small period within a week of stopping. But no, it won't cause damage. If you're feeling miserable, just stop taking it. Or try a different pill. You can switch in the middle of a pack without having side effects or reduced protection. Have you considered a hormonal IUD? I hear the side effects are minimal and most people's periods stop completely.

2 days is early to stop taking the pill but if you think you can't put up with feeling a lil sick then you can stop taking it, but usually it is better to talk to your doctor before doing so.
You might want to consider the coil. It's something I personally have never wanted done, but it's non hormonal so it might be a better option for you than the pill.
This website has a list of different contraceptives, you can click on them to find out more about them:

Personally I think you should carry on taking the pill for a little longer because 2 days really is too short to decide whether you get along with that brand of pill or not.

It will not do any damage.
But if the pill is causing neasea you should meet your doctor right away! Just tell your doctor what you wrote here.
You will not get a better answer here than your doctor who knows your history and body and knows the options you have van give you!
Good luck!
