My friend had this same problem, I found out it was all made up but we kept it between the two of us....anyway if you don't want to tell them the truth because of what they might think they're probably not too good of friends....but to keep it a secret to yourself still tell them you want to keep him out of your life and mind for good because of the pain it brings you. Change the topic if it ever comes up. Good luck!!:)

A female reader, SweetSmoochy United States +, writes (8 April 2011):

SweetSmoochy agony auntWell, first, making things up is always going to get you in this kind of a mess. ESPECIALLY when you do it to impress other people. That's never a good idea.

Never do something like this again, or you'll be caught and you'll look like a fool. For now, you have to kill this little monster of a lie.

You told your friends that you and your boyfriend broke up, right? Next time they ask to meet him, tell them that it was a painful breakup and you really don't want to talk to him. Tell them that they are being very cruel by trying to make you stay in that painful place instead of letting you move on. Then, every time they bring him up just say you don't want to talk about him. Eventually, they should forget about it.
