I guess the chances of both the pill and the condom failing at the same time are minimal, so that could give peace of mind. I am sure the statistics depend on how often you have sex too. I have used two methods at once at times. This person may/may not be the person you marry and there may be risks of STD.

Are you more concerned about pregnancy or your risk of STD's?
Taking the pill is a great method of birth control, but does zilch for you with protection from STD's.
If you are concerned about STD's then by all means get yourself to a drug store and get some condoms, its the only effective way.

According to this website http://www.fda.gov/Fdac/features/1997/conceptbl.html
You have a 5% chance of getting pregnant assuming you make the occasional mistake in taking the pill. Kinda scary because that means theorectically, after 100 times of having sex, five of those times would get you pregnant. Its only .01% chance if you take the pill perfectly every time. That means that 1 out 1000 sex sessions might get you pregnant.
But it could also never happen. Not a risk I would be willing to take.

Yes yes yes!!!!!!! Girl u are at risk of STDs 7 months is not long enough to know that person ur with inside and out. Married couples even get STDs. And so many guys cheat and women!!! All it takes is once! And yes u can get pregant if u don't take the pill right. There is a perecentage its on the bill control paper inside the box read it for the exact perectage. But just because ur on the bill doesn't mean ur 100 perecent protected. And stds ur not protected at all. U don't wanna be one of those girls who wish u wouldn't have not used a condom.look it up online so u can see how many women and men get em who are in long term relationships....3 4 15 years...so 7 months is nothing

yeah the pill is only 98% effitive if used correctly so its a small chance. little to late for the risk of stds though...next guy, make him wear them to avoid the risk of you (or him) getting stds

If you have both been tested and you know for a fact you are both clean, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

You are still at a minor risk, birth pills are very effective but nothing is 100% so just be causious.
Its not that bad and its very rare that you'd get pregnant but its still possible also condoms protect you from getting S.T.I's whereas birth pills dont.
Good luck :)
